Eduardo Parra López
Prof. Dr. Eduardo Parra López is Full Professor in the Department of Business Management and Economic History at the University of La Laguna (Spain) and a member of the ICMarkTech 2025 Advisory Committee. Specialising in tourism business management and strategic competitiveness, his research focuses on destination benchmarking, online reputation, consumer behaviour in tourism, and sustainable marine tourism. He has supervised multiple doctoral theses and led research projects aimed at improving decision-making in tourism SMEs through data mining and governance modelling.

Eduardo Parra López earned his PhD in Social and Legal Sciences from the University of La Laguna in 2002, with a thesis on strategic determinants for gaining competitive advantages in tourism service distribution channels. He is a faculty member in the PhD programmes Law, Society and Tourism and Tourism, and a researcher at the ISTUR Institute. His academic work spans tourism competitiveness, benchmarking of destinations, strategic determinants of loyalty and electronic word-of-mouth, and responsible tourism governance. He has supervised four PhD theses and participated in over 20 doctoral committees. Prof. Parra López has led and contributed to numerous funded projects, including “DAMTUR” (Data Mining for Tourism SMEs in the Canary Islands) and “INTURMAR” (Tourism Intelligence for Responsible Marine Tourism), supported by national and regional funding bodies. His research output includes 47 peer-reviewed articles, 53 book chapters, 26 conference papers, 14 books, and two other publications.
